Edith's Anthology

This site contains a collection of poems by Edith Theodora Mehliss (born Williams), reproduced from an old exercise book which she painstakingly filled, over a period of some 24 years.

She belonged to another age and another time and her childhood evoked an innocence and purity, which are portrayed in her poetry, which is nowadays unknown.  The beautiful cursive handwriting has faded, and in some poems, it is difficult to decipher exactly what she had written over a century ago.
